Every summer I work with one of my favorite local orgs making promotional materials for their annual festival. Astoria Music and Arts, a non-profit 501(C)3 community organization throws an annual musical festival every summer, New World Queens Festival this year took place August 29, noon to 9pm, in Astoria Park and featured live music, visual art, dancers, performance artists, and interactive children’s events. The Festival is pet-friendly with a focus on Eco-awareness. The festival features Bossanova, Reggae, Ska, R&B, Rock, Psychedelic, Americana, Indie, Funk, Blue grass, Afro-Cuban, DJs; a Pie-Eating contest by Astor Bake Shop, a family fun dance party experience for children sponsored by Little Club Heads, and much much more! Astoria Music and Arts (AM&A) is committed to supporting a diverse, artistic community throughout the Astoria/Long Island City area. This marks AM&A’s seventh annual festival.
